Terms

Anyone can look. You need to be 13 or older to post, and you are asked for your birth year once. Answering untruthfully does not make it allowed.

You keep every right to what you post. By posting you allow selfies.lol to show it inside the app — in the world, in a city, in rankings, and on a share card you generate.

Delete it and that permission ends with it.

Post photographs of yourself. Do not post anyone who has not agreed to be posted, anything sexual, anything violent, anything hateful, anything involving a child, or anything that is not yours to post.

Every photo is checked automatically before it is published, and anything can be reported. We can take down a photo or close an account that breaks this.

Boost buys LOL — 30, 60 or 100 points depending on which one you choose — and time in the feed. Those points are added to your selfie’s score, and that score is what the city, country and world rankings are ordered by. So a boost can move your position ahead of somebody who did not pay. Spotlight buys a labelled position — a week in a city, a month across a country, or a year worldwide — and LOL: 50, 100 or 200 points, added to your selfie’s score the same way, so a Spotlight moves your rank too.

You can also pay any amount from $1 to $10,000 for LOL on a selfie: 10 LOL for every dollar, added to its score when the payment clears.

None of them buys reactions. Every like, laugh, wow and caught on your selfie is a real person choosing to give it, and nothing you pay for adds one or takes one away. What people do when they see your selfie is up to them.

Prices are shown before you pay and charged once, through Stripe. A Spotlight that has not started can be refunded; once a placement has run, it has been delivered.

Credit earned by sharing buys the same boosts money buys, LOL included. It is not money: it cannot be cashed out, transferred, or converted into anything else, and it has no value outside the app.

It is earned from real visitors opening your links. Attempts to manufacture visits earn nothing.

selfies.lol is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that your selfie will be seen by any particular number of people, or that it will reach any rank. A boost adds a fixed number of points; where that leaves you depends on everybody else, and can change at any moment.

You can delete your selfies at any time and ask us to close your account. We can close an account that breaks these terms.

If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will say so rather than quietly replacing the page.
